Teens Take Over State Capitol

ATLANTA - More than 300 teenagers from 37 school and youth delegations across Georgia will descend upon the state capitol from Nov. 11-13, proposing bills in House and Senate Chambers, debating current issues, and passing legislation that will become permanent record.

WHAT
63RD YOUTH ASSEMBLY
Youth Assembly is a three-day learning opportunity for high school students, grades 9-12, designed to give participants an experience in the operation of Georgia's State Government. Held annually at the state capitol in Atlanta, student legislators meet in committees and in the House and Senate chambers to debate legislation. Bills introduced this session include serious topics such as immigration, water restrictions and schools to have hospital-grade disposable-microbial hand wipes/sanitizer in all public places to decrease the spread of MRSA.
